Quartzsite to Salome – March 21

Today’s ride was another short one.  I travelled 40 miles at an average speed of 12.8 miles per hour.  After leaving Quartzsite on the shoulder of the busy I-10, the route took me to the quiet Highway 60.   The first 15 miles or so were great.  The pavement was relatively new, smooth and fast.  After about 4 miles on HWY 60 I passed through the small town of Brenda, population 676. It seems like the main business in town is RV Parks. I passed several along the way.  I grabbed a coffee to go and continued on without stopping.  After passing through the traffic circle near Vicksburg, I continued on HWY 60, passing through Hope and Harcuvar before arriving in Salome. Our camping spot for the night.  I stopped for a coffee before continuing on to the RV Park.  I arrived well before noon and waited for our van and luggage to appear.  The Voyageur Haven

RV Park does not have the internet so most folk headed in to Salome after cleaning up to have a beer or milkshake at Don’s Cactus Bar and use the free wifi.

Had a beer on the patio at Don’ Cactus Bar.

Another campground that I rank low, although the star gazing was great at night.
