Last week I took my bicycle apart, packed it in the bike case and shipped it to Las Vegas. Fitting my Long Haul Trucker touring bike in the Serfas Bike Case was a bit of a challenge. It would have been very easy to fit my mountain bike or road bike in the 47″x30″x11″ case but the 58cm frame on my LHT was a tight squeeze. I had to remove the rear derailleur to finally fit it in. The overall weight of the bike case, bike and assorted extras was 54 lbs. I shipped the bike to a bike shop in Las Vegas by UPS and the folks at the bike shop will assemble it for my tour through Death Valley. I’ll find out on Friday how it made out on the trip.
