On Sunday, July 8, I got an early start as I headed east to Wolf Point. As I only had just over two weeks of time allotted for the cycling part of this trip, I had made arrangements for Tasia to meet me in Wolf Point with our car before we headed to South Dakota for some sight seeing. The ride to Wolf Point was only 80km but it was one of the more difficult days as I faced an easterly headwind the whole way. We met up just after 1pm and then drove to South Dakota that afternoon and evening. We had an enjoyable day on Monday driving through the Black Hills looking at the forested areas and stopping in Deadwood and Custer City. Before visiting Mount Rushmore tomorrow I plan to do some early morning cycling on the Mickelson Trail. The trail is 100 miles long and runs on an abandoned rail line from Edgemont to Deadwood. I plan to ride about 30km.
