Today’s ride was 45 miles. It started with a steep 1 mile climb out of the basin through the mist followed by 7 miles of downhill on a slick road. Because of the steep grade and wet road, I worked my brakes most of the way down the mountain.
The rest of the ride included some climbs and downhill descents. I passed through Terilinga and past Big Bend Ranch State Park before arriving at the Maverick Ranch RV Park in Lajitas. The RV parks is a very nice facility with showers and a laundromat. According to Wikipedia, the population of Lajitas was 70 in the year 2000.
