Pedernales Falls State Park to Austin TX – April 15

I got on the road just after 8 am this morning with one of the other cyclists and headed east on Rd. 2766. After a few miles we came upon a low lying dip in he road win water rushing over it. We’ve come across many dips in the road that don’t use culverts.  We had to be careful riding down the hill and through the water.

After about 25 miles or so from the campground we arrived at US 290 and stopped at a store for a short break and to grab a snack. We met up with a few of the other riders there before we left.

We encountered some ladies who were roller skating across the US. At first we thought they were young mothers pushing baby strollers but it turned out they  were carrying their gear in the strollers.

We rode another 26 miles through busy suburban streets, bike paths and downtown Austin before arriving city at the Rodeway Inn adjacent to I – 35.  Today’s ride was 51 miles.
