Early snowfall

It is hard to believe that earlier this week I was riding my bicycle in Texas and that today I was back home cross country skiing.  While driving home form Texas, the Soo and area was hit with some early lake effect snow.  Enough snow has fallen to enable Hiawatha Highlands staff to carry out some trail grooming.  Ski conditions on the 2km Kinsmen Loop were excellent Friday morning for both classic and skating technique.  I skate skied 6km under sunny skies and a temperature in the -5c range.   The weather forecast for the next several days calls for bellow freezing temperatures so it expected that good skiing conditions will continue.
