Marathon to Stillwell Store

I had a great sleep in the tent last night in Marathon. It was calm and warm most of the night and showers started before sunrise. I got up around 6:15 and packed up my tent in the light rain. I wanted to get it packed and put away before it started raining harder. After a quick breakfast I packed my lunch and was on the road to Stillwell Store And RV park by 7:15.

It didn’t take long for it to start raining again and the rain continued for the rest of the day. Traffic was very light and I had the whole road to myself most of the morning. I didn’t stop to often because of the rain but enjoyed the ride and the scenery nonetheless. After 46 miles I arrived at the campground just after 11am. The campground could best be described as primitive, however it does have hot showers and a laundromat.

It continued to rain for the rest of the day and the forecast calls for the rain to persist throughout the evening and for tomorrow. The temperatures are expected to drop as well. I’m glad I packed a few extra warm clothes.
